A Small Alley

A Small Alley

A year ago, I never would have imagined that one day I'd be wandering alone through a quiet alley in Gangnam, Seoul...

trying to clear my head after realizing my team needed to recruit forty thousand marketplace sellers in just four weeks.

Life has a strange sense of humor.

I also never expected a Monday night to feel so beautiful.

There were persimmons hanging from roadside trees, almost ready to ripen.

Tiny izakayas glowing beneath red lanterns.

A New York-style bagel bakery.

An Irish pub already decorated for Christmas.

A Thai restaurant.

Street food stalls.

And dozens of quirky little restaurants that somehow all looked inviting.

It felt as though the alley itself was telling me,

"Stop overthinking."

"Eat something first."

Maybe some answers aren't found by thinking.

Maybe they're found by walking.

By catching the smell of food drifting out of a restaurant.

Or simply by noticing a cluster of ripe persimmons overhead.

Whenever you're feeling overwhelmed, go for a walk.

And when life is going well...

go anyway.

If you keep walking long enough, you'll discover that life is a lot like a small alley.

The destination matters less than you think.

The best moments are usually hidden in the few unplanned steps you almost didn't take.

Maybe that's what being truly relaxed feels like.

On an ordinary Monday evening...

not rushing anywhere,

not chasing anyone,

not even watching the time—

just following wherever your mood takes you.

Sometimes that's enough to stumble upon an entire street full of quiet magic.

Take your time.

You'll figure it out.

There are almost always more solutions than problems.
